News reflection

During reading period, I read an article from Newsweek about the disaster in Japan. It showed the extent of the disaster in Japan and how much damage it had cost. The tsunami and earthquake had totally wiped out houses buildings, causing many deaths. There were also many devastating stories that were caused by the disaster. It caused me to think about how fortunate we are in Singapore without any major disasters that threaten our lives. I feel that we should learn to be thankful for the safe country that we live in and that we should make a big fuss just because our drain overflows. The Japan disaster also showed the many dangers that nuclear plants could have as the Fukushima nuclear plant was on the point of a meltdown. Singapore is a very small country, and should learn from the Japan disaster that it is not practial as it would put the entire country in danger.
